What You Need To Know

Once you subscribe to a Roaming Key the local data in your tariff plan can all be used abroad.

For example, if you’re signed up for a Data SIM S plan, 10GB can be used in roaming

Getting a worry-free roaming experience with Ooredoo is easy and convenient. Just follow the tips below:

Before leaving Qatar

  • Check that you have paid your bills to avoid any unexpected service interruption.

If your pocket Wi-Fi device/phone is not connecting to any network:

  • Check your device settings: Ensure that your device roaming option is enabled. Sometimes, it might be disabled by default, so you’ll need to activate it manually. Setting→Cellular→Cellular Data Options→Roaming Data→on/ off
  • Restart your device or enable and disable airplane mode: Restarting and resetting your phone’s connection can help resolve temporary network issues and refresh your device’s connections.
  • Switch network modes: Try changing your network mode from 5G to 4G or vice versa. Sometimes, certain networks or areas have better coverage on specific mode settings. Setting→Cellular→Cellular Data Options→Voice & Data→5G only/5G Auto/LTE/3G
  • Change network selection mode: preferably have your phone on ‘Auto’ mode. Ooredoo always connects you to the best network available. However, if your phone is not connecting to any network please try manually selecting a network. Don’t worry, we will only allow you to connect to partner networks in partner countries. Setting→Cellular→Network Selection→Automatic on/off

If your service is slow

  • Restart your device/phone or enable and disable airplane mode: restarting and resetting your phone’s connection can help to resolve temporary network issues and refresh your connections.

Login in to the Ooredoo App

  • At the top of the screen, select your Data SIM service.
  • Then select ‘manage plan’
  • From the subscription tab select (Add-ons)
  • Choose Roaming Key
  • Review and accept terms and condition
  • Fill in the OTP code which will be sent to your phone

  • Roaming Key - Weekly enables data allowances to be used while roaming in selected countries.
  • Countries where local allowances can be consumed as part of your roaming usage are: KSA, Oman, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Turkey, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, USA, Egypt, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Greece, Jordan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Tunisia, China, Poland, Czechia, Portugal, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea.
  • Local allowances eligible to be used while roaming: The local allowances included in your tariff plan, allowances provided by Add-ons, promotional allowances.
  • Local allowances not eligible for roaming use: Data at lower (throttled) speed, which is used after the main Data allowance from your tariff plan is consumed.
  • Roaming Key - Weekly and Monthly are available for subscription by customers with Data SIM- Go, Super, Pro, and Premium plans.
  • Roaming Key - Weekly is t QR150 and is valid for 7 days from subscription.
  • A Roaming Key - Weekly will expire automatically after 7 days and can be reactivated for another week.

  • To be able to use networks in other countries, you will need a compatible device, as destination networks might use different technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G, VoLTE, etc.)
